More confidence
in everyday moments.

If missing teeth or an unstable denture make you think twice about a meal or a smile, it is worth exploring your options. Full-arch implant care starts with what you want to feel comfortable doing again.

Fixed or removable: what is the difference?

Fixed implant-supported teeth

A fixed bridge stays in place for daily use. You clean around and beneath it; your dental team handles removal when clinically needed.

A removable implant-supported denture

A removable restoration attaches to implants and is taken out by the patient for cleaning. Its attachments and the tissues around the implants also need care.

Two full-arch concepts: a fixed bridge (left) and a removable overdenture (right). Both are lifted here to reveal the supports; a fixed bridge is removed by a clinician. Implant counts are schematic, not a treatment recommendation.

Two parts of one treatment plan.

Dr. Dreyer evaluates and treats the supporting gums and bone and plans implant placement. The restorative dentist designs the teeth, including any temporary restoration. Together, those roles connect the surgical plan to the way the final teeth fit, function and can be cleaned.

How is treatment staged?

  1. Evaluate the starting point. Review remaining teeth, periodontal health, medical history and available bone.
  2. Plan the restoration and any preparation. Discuss the type of teeth, the proposed implant support, grafting if needed and the temporary phase.
  3. Place implants and review healing. The sequence and readiness for restoration depend on the individual plan.
  4. Provide the final teeth and ongoing care. The restorative dentist completes the prosthesis, with continued attention to the implants and supporting tissues.

Plan for everyday cleaning.

A full arch still needs daily cleaning and professional follow-up. The shape of the restoration affects access for cleaning; ask the team to show you the routine and tools suited to it. Maintenance should be part of the original discussion, including how visits are shared between offices.

Plan for comfort before treatment.

Discuss dental anxiety and pain control at your consultation. Local numbing and relaxation options can be considered together, with the approach chosen for your health and procedure.

Comfort & relaxation options

Your questions, answered.

How many implants will I need?

The number and position are planning decisions based on the bone, the proposed restoration and other clinical factors. A fixed number cannot be selected from a website. Some plans involve bone grafting or sinus augmentation; others do not.

Will I have temporary teeth?

Temporary teeth are an important part of the planning conversation. Their design, timing and use depend on the surgical and restorative plan. Discuss this with both doctors before treatment; immediate fixed teeth are not suitable for every situation.

Is a fixed option always better?

The choice involves cleaning access, anatomy, the proposed design and your preferences. A removable option may suit some patients. Your evaluation is the place to compare the advantages and responsibilities of each.
